Valued PPP vendor partner,
I’m reaching out to let you know that Portland Pedal Power has been acquired by Waiter.com. We’re incredibly excited about this next step for PPP and the opportunity it provides to improve and expand the services we provide to our vendors and customers.
Here are the answers to some questions you may have about this news:
What is the immediate impact on me?
We will not be making any changes to our staff or processes at this time. All employees retain their jobs so the same ordering and delivery staff you are familiar with will continue to work with you. Our ordering system will also remain unchanged. We will continue to operate as Portland Pedal Power and provide bicycle-based food delivery and sustainable catering services to businesses in Portland.
We will let you know as improvements to our systems are made over time.
Who is Waiter.com?
Waiter.com pioneered the concept of online restaurant ordering back in 1995 in Silicon Valley. Today Waiter.com delivers food from over 1300 businesses in markets across the country.
There are many synergies between Waiter.com and Portland Pedal Power. Both companies deliver primarily to business customers and focus on exceptional customer service. A reliance on a trained employee base is another key similarity in the models.
Why now?
With the consolidation in the food delivery industry, Portland Pedal Power has been looking for a partner to help us grow in a way that preserves the values of our business- exceptional service, sustainability, and a commitment to our team, customers and partners. Waiter.com shares our values and has the resources to enable PPP to continue to improve our systems and grow our service area.
Please send me any other questions you have. I am also happy to schedule a phone call to talk with you.
Best,
Stacy and The PPP Team-
